I spoke here about how wonderfully training was going and how I was totally going to keep building up my mileage. And, of course, I woke up the next morning with a cramping arch and sore toe. Typical injuries, just waiting for you to get a little over-enthusiastic so they can smack you in the face and remind you that they, not your wishful thinking and rock solid motivation to train, are in charge. So rude!
Anyhow, I ended up taking yesterday and today off (plus plenty of rolling, stretching, and freezing my little toes off with an ice pack) and things are feeling back to normal today. Scheduled workouts will resume tomorrow, but I’ll probably let this weekend’s road trip dictate my rest days (that’ll give me at least 1 extra day off this week) in order to play it safe.
Still making progress (it now takes 26 miles to bust my foot instead of like 15) but reminded that my dreams occasionally need a little reigning in 😛
