Trying to go all-out over 1 loop of a 3-mile XC course for a lonely little time trial is a little tough…especially after deciding to start cross-fit training with a friend the day before (so sore!) and working 30+ hours in the span of 2.5 days (focus is long gone). However, the weather was gorgeous today (only 80 degrees and breezy) and the park was freshly mown and the scent of cut grass and mud from yesterday’s downpour sent me straight back to all my fond XC memories.
Held 6:50 pace for a (hilly!) mile in deep grass and mud even on dead legs (and a dead brain :P). Can’t wait to get some more serious (i.e. long!!!) workouts in once I defend!
