I’m finally able to do some decent length runs and I’ve been itching to get out on the trails and actually take advantage of the awesome peaks all along the Wasatch front. I just found an awesome smartphone app, AllTrails, along with a few local mountain biking/trail running websites and now I want to run ALL the trails!!!!!!
But I’m trying to hold myself back a little and plan out some reasonable trail runs each weekend. MountainMan just started his grouse hunting season so I’ll have plenty of free weekends this Fall to meander around the local paths.
I hit up my first goal trail today and absolutely loved it – 6 miles of lung squeezing altitude, gorgeous views of the just-starting-to-change scrub oak, and 900+ feet of climbing. Buff calves, here I come 😉

Luckily the trailhead was actually pretty obvious – it was actually labeled with a nice big “Start” banner 😉
